Television Update - Chuck, Heroes

I saw two "new" shows last night. The first was Chuck. It's about a dude named Chuck who accidentally receives an email that embeds thousands of CIA secrets into his brain. He's got to handle government agents who want his head in addition to a video game addiction, a clingy best friend, and a computer tech job that would drive a sloth to tears (I'm not sure what I mean by that, but I'd really like to see a sloth cry). It's also quite funny.

The second "new" show I saw was Heroes. I know this is the show's second season, but I stopped paying attention once I missed an episode in the middle of last year so last night's premiere was a bit of an eye opener. I'm still not sure I understand the recent developments, but my interest is once again piqued.

Later today I'll put up some recaps and impressions on both these shows.

I thought Chuck was good too.

Oh, you didn't watch Heroes last season? Rent it. Rent it NOW. Or watch it on NBC.com if its still available. Or at least read the recaps on TWoP

At least episodes: 1, 9, 10, 17 and 20. And then the season finale.

Seriously. Right now. Go.

Also, if you don't watch Friday Night Lights you have 10 days to get caught up before it premieres on Oct 5 and I'm telling you YOU SHOULD BE WATCHING THAT SHOW.

Heroes would be my latest addiction if I had been able to finish watching last season...but my computer was crappy and I had no patience. I need to rent it I guess.

I liked Chuck a lot. Very funny.

I shouldn't admit this, but I haven't watched Heroes yet. I have so many shows on my Tivo I haven't been able to get to it. I finally got the first season on DVD so I'm going to sit down and watch it soon.

I just finished the first season of Dexter and it was AWESOME! I can't recommend it enough.

sadie - Yes ma'am! I've been hearing good things about Friday Night Lights, but is it at all funny? Straight drama makes me sad.

silver - I was really dedicated to the show, but I missed one week and then it felt like I was forever left behind. I suck at watching shows regularly.

sqt - I thought Heroes started out a little slow, but it was intriguing enough to keep me interested. I enjoyed the second season premiere so I'm hoping the entire first season was equally good. And I'm expecting the first Dexter dvds in the mail tomorrow. Yay!

Yes, FNL is funny. It's not depressing-- it has it's moments, of course, but it's funny.

A lot of people got turned off in the first couple episodes by the shaky camera style, but that goes away after 3 or 4 episodes.

It's not all football either, although I doubt that would turn you off, but I've had people say they don't like sports shows, and it's not.

"Heroes" is something I plan to rent, on dvd, at some point in the distant-ish future.
